I promised a friend of mine from NYC who’s a major UrbanSpoon believer that I’d blog for L’Aube since we both love it (and both grew up in France) and I live here in Philly! So I am being cheap and took a bunch of reviews of L’Aube from all the local papers (all are excellent) and am pasting them. But you can see them all at cafelaube.com. I definitely recommend this place. It’s not a chain cafe, it’s authentically French food, crepes, sandwiches, and the best French pastries and best bagels and coffee drinks. For an out-of-the-way little cafe its quality has garnered it a lot of attention in all the papers as if it were a sit-dwn restaurant and it has held its own, but so far they’ve kept to their low-key focus on being a genuine no-frills French cafe. It’s a family-owned place, too!
